Information ministry forms committee to formulate OTT policy
As per the gazette notification of the Ministry of Information, a 15-member committee has been formed
The Ministry of Information has decided to formulate OTT policy on the display of various content, including advertisements that use social media and OTT (Over the Top) platforms.
As per the gazette notification of the Ministry of Information, a 15-member committee has been formed, comprised of the Additional Secretary (Broadcasting) of the ministry as President and Deputy Secretary (TV-2) as Member Secretary, said a press release.
The other members of the committee are the Director General of Bangladesh Television; Director General of Bangladesh Betar; Director General of Film and Publications Department; Managing Director of Bangladesh Film Development Corporation; representative of the Posts and Telecommunications Division; representative of the Information and Communication Technology Division; representative of the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission; Mozammel Haque Babu, senior vice-president of the Association of Television Channel Owners; Playwright Tariq Anam Khan; film director Amitabh Reza Chowdhury; filmmaker and producer Piplu R Khan; President or General Secretary or Nominated Representatives of the TV Drama Directors Guild; and Broadcast Journalists Center.
Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud had informed the media a few days ago that a committee would be formed in this regard, the press release further said.
