Lighter vessel backlog at Ctg port eases

In mid-January, more than 100 vessels were stranded offshore, delaying the unloading of food grains and essential commodities ahead of Ramadan.

At Chittagong Goods Port Yard, 1,352 containers are stacked against a capacity of 825 on Monday, up from 1,831 during this month’s labour unrest. With only one or two trains running daily, cargo delays are mounting. Photo: Md Minhaj Uddin
