As the national sides will take on each other in Lahore, the Under 19 sides of Bangladesh and Pakistan will also fight it out at Potchefstroom in their bout to reach the next round of the ICC Under 19 World Cup as group champions.

Both Bangladesh and Pakistan have won both their games against Zimbabwe and Scotland to secure their place in the quarter-finals with Bangladesh leading the group with a better net run rate.

Bangladesh had a rain struck first game in the tournament against Zimbabwe where the young Tigers managed to restrict Zimbabwe to 127-6 before the rain came along. After the rain ceased, Bangladesh were set a target of 130 to get from 22 overs and Bangladesh displayed their firepower on the Zimbabwean bowlers to reach the target within the 12th over with 9 wickets in hand.

In their next game, the Bangladeshi bowlers halted the Scottish youngsters to a meagre 89 and their batsmen reached their target with 7 wickets and 200 deliveries in hand.

Pakistan were also comprehensive victors against Zimbabwe and Scotland as they beat the sides by 38 runs and 7 wickets respectively.

Bangladesh Under 19's strong side this time around has been their bowling as in both the games they managed to dismantle the opposition batting. Their batsmen have looked less convincing as Bangladesh had lost three wickets for 35 against Scotland chasing only 90.

The biggest threat from Pakistan comes from Mohammad Wasim who had picked up five wickets against Scotland to dismantle them. Also, Tahir Husain has picked up three wickets in both their matches and the Bangladeshi top-order must be wary of him.

Both the sides will look for a win as topping the group will provide the sides with a great boost of confidence. And with skipper Akbar Ali hopeful of winning the tournament, Bangladesh will look to take their first stride at that with a win against the first tough opponents they face in the tournament.
