Welcome back, Shakib Al Hasan!

Shakib Al Hasan has been released from his one-year ban imposed by ICC and eligible to play international cricket from today. He was banned for breaching the ICC Anti Corruption Code. The charges imposed against him were all accepted by Shakib himself and he was initially banned for two years, with one year of that suspended.
The southpaw apparently took approaches from bookie Deepak Aggarwal too casually and failed to disclose to the ACU full details of any approaches or invitations he received to engage in corrupt conduct - in relation to the Tri-Series in January 2018 and / or the 2018 IPL. He also failed to disclose to the ACU about an IPL 2018 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad v Kings XI Punjab on 26 April 2018. 
The incident shocked the whole nation including the cricket community that someone like Shakib had actually done this. He was a part of the Marylebone Cricket Club and had to step down from his involvement with the MCC World Cricket. 
Shakib Al Hasan was supposed to miss a lot of cricket due to his ban, but fortunately, he did not. The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic halted a lot of cricket series around the world, and it came as a blessing in disguise for both Shakib and the Bangladesh Cricket team. He still missed three series, and his absence was duly felt. Especially against India, where he was supposed to lead the team in both Tests and T20Is, his all-round performance was missed greatly. He was banned just a few days before flying to India and the whole team was in a mess. 
Shakib was in great form in the Cricket world cup last year and it felt like he was just taking his game to the next level. He was well in the race for winning the best player of the tournament with 606 runs with the bat and 11 wickets with the ball. 
Cricket fans, players, and BCB members are happy and excited about his return. Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the CEO of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday said that the board is really happy that Shakib is returning after a long year.
"He is one of the most important members of our cricket team, it is undoubtedly happy news for us. We will hope that he will perform the same way he has been doing since day one," said Nizamuddin.
Shakib is currently staying in the USA. He is supposed to return home by November 10 and return to cricket through the Bangabandhu T20 League that will begin in mid-November.
