Vettori to join Tigers as bowling consultant on Friday

Vettori will work for the Bangladesh team till 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia.

Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori will join the Bangladesh coaching staff on Friday as the spin bowling consultant of the Tigers.

The chief executive officer of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Nizam Uddin Chowdhury on Thursday said the Kiwi legendary cricketer will join Bangladesh's practice camp on Friday. 

"We're expecting Vettori in Dhaka tomorrow (Oct 25) morning. He'll attend Bangladesh's practice session on the same day," Chowdhury told the media at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. 

Vettori played 113 Tests, 295 ODIs and 34 T20Is for New Zealand and bagged 362, 305 and 38 wickets respectively.

The 40-year-old coach previously worked for several teams of Indian Premier League. BCB handed him the role after they parted ways with Indian coach Sunil Joshi.

As per the agreement with the BCB, Vettori will work for the Bangladesh team till 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia. He will spend only 100 days with Bangladesh team during the time.
