Under-19 World Cup winners have now been the latest to step up in the battle against coronavirus.
The likes of Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Parvez Hossain Emon and Akbar Ali have formed a fund and the news of this was confirmed to The Business Standard by Avishek Das.
16 u-19 players and eight members of the staff have formed this fund with everyone chipping in whatever they could.
The fund is set to be handed over the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a few days, Avishek informed.
"We have taken this initiative and we will give whatever we can according to our capabilities. It will take a few days for everyone to donate their part and after that we will hand it over to the board. We haven't decided on the exact date yet," Avishek said.
On the other hand, left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam has decided to help by providing free food for 70 families in need.
