Tigers focusing more on fielding ahead of SL series

Bangladeshi fielders have had a nightmare of New Zealand tour, fielding wise. They missed several chances, which cost them terribly. The 'catch missing fest' continued in the Sri Lanka tour as well. But the team is now giving extra focus to their fielding to improve it before the ODI series against Sri Lanka. 

On Saturday, Afif Hossain Dhrubo, the left-arm batting all-rounder, admitted that their fielding in New Zealand was not up to the mark. He also mentioned that the team is working hard on this and hope to be better real soon.
  
"Our fielding overall was not up to the mark in New Zealand. But we are practising to get better. We have a fielding session every day after training. Hopefully, we can learn something and don't repeat the same mistakes," Afif said.

Afif also mentioned that this pre-series practice is a positive sign and will help them get better.

"It's a positive sign that we got to practice for such a long time before a series. This long preparation will help us against Sri Lanka."

Bangladesh finally have a full-strength side after a few series. Shakib Al Hasan missed the New Zealand and Sri Lanka tours due to injury and IPL later on. He and pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who also missed the Sri Lanka tour to participate in IPL, will join the team after their quarantine finishes.

"Since we have our full team available, including Shakib Bhai and Mustafiz Bhai, it, of course, is a positive sign for us. Hopefully, we will finish the series on a high note," Afif concluded.

The series will begin on May 23, followed by the second and the third ODI on May 25 and 28, respectively. 
All the matches will be held at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.
