After another defeat against Afghanistan, Bangladesh fans at the Sher-e-Bangla national stadium were visibly disgruntled.
There were a variety of opinions regarding the reasons for the loss but one common theme that followed was the need to get better in the future games.
One fan, Shajib Ahmed opined that the team was low on confidence and needed a few wins under their belt to get better.
"It shows in the body language of the players that they are lacking confidence and a few wins should fix this," Shajib explained.
On the other hand Wahid-uz-Zaman, another fan believed that the board needed to work and try to find a leg spinner like Rashid Khan.
"You can see their bowlers and how good they have been. Bowlers like Rashid Khan win you matches and we badly need to find a leg spinner like him," Wahid said.
Then there was Mohammad Shiplu who thought that Bangladesh should not have changed the batting order.
"We have batsmen like Mushfiqur Rahim opening the innings and our regular openers like Soumya Sarkar playing down the order and it simply hasn't worked out."
Another fan, Jonny Chowdhury believed it was time to bring the likes of batsman Imrul Kayes and fast-bowler Taskin Ahmed back into the team.
"We need to give others a chance. Something needs to change and maybe we should bring back Imrul and Taskin. They have done well in the past," Jonny believed.
Mr. Abu Sayeed was however hopeful that there is still enough time for the team to bounce back and win the series.
"Inshallah we'll do better in the next games and win when it matters. We have done it in the past and I'm sure we can do it again! Let's get behind the team and cheer the boys on!"
A very angry Raihan Rahman explained that he got 100 BDT tickets for 1,000 BDT and he expected a better performance from the home team.
"I spent so much just to see them and this is not a performance that was acceptable. I couldn't find tickets and paid 1000 taka for 100 taka tickets and the team let me down big time!" Raihan said.
Anik Ahmed was not surprised by the result and believed not having a good enough domestic circuit is hurting the team.
"Look at Afghanistan. They are producing better quality bowlers and better players than us and they can't even play in their own homeland. We have so much money and so much fan support but we still don't have a proper domestic structure. Nothing will improve if the board doesn't act now!" Anik explained.
Imran Ahmed was another fan that believed that to board needed to act right away and improve the domestic structure. Or the fans should boycott the games and stop spending money on the team.
"If the board doesn't fix the issues that we have in the team, our cricket will fall behind. We must improve the domestic structure to nurture the talent we have. We should take action! Maybe stop going to games if things don't get better in the future. Something must be done!" Imran vented.
Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and Afghanistan will now travel to Chattogram to play each other in three more T20I's there before coming back to Dhaka for the final.
The Tigers will be desperate to get back to winning ways there as the tension and unrest among fans regarding the home team continues to grow.
