Taskin eyes permanent place in Test team
Taskin, 24, last played a Test during Bangladesh’s South Africa tour in 2017.

Right-arm pacer Taskin Ahmed on Friday said he is looking forward to cementing his place in the Bangladesh Test team.
“It’s quite a good feeling that I’ve come back to the Test team. Now, my focus is to work hard and cement my place in the team,” he told the media Friday after the play of day one of the ongoing two-day inter-squad practice game of the national team.
Bangladesh are gearing up to start their new home season with the one-off Test against Afghanistan scheduled to start from September 5 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Taskin, 24, last played a Test during Bangladesh’s South Africa tour in 2017. He was also called up in Test team for Bangladesh’s last tour to New Zealand. But he had to skip due to an injury.
“Apart from Tests, there’re many games coming up. So I’ll try my best to stay fit and perform well,” he added.
Right after the one-off Test against the Afghans, Bangladesh will face off Zimbabwe and Afghanistan in a tri-series T20. Taskin is hopeful to make the squad for the T20Is as well.
