Najmul XI managed to score 165 runs before getting all out in the 41-over curtailed match against Tamim XI in 39.3 overs. The target will be 164 runs for Tamim XI to reach the all important final.

Pacers once again dominated the proceedings while Mushfiq and Afif did some repairing to the Najmul XI.

The match was curtailed to 41 overs as rain took away a good two hours from the game.

Saifuddin's fiery five-for keep Tamim XI in the race

All rounder Saifuddin was on fire with the ball today. He took a five wicket haul from his 8.3 overs giving away only 26 runs. He started with the wicket of Soumya Sarkar, who has been in terrible form throughout the tournament. Saifuddin then broke the 90-run partnership of Mushfiqur Rahim and Afif Hossain Dhrubo. He fired in brilliant deliveries throughout his spell and picked up the tailenders quickly.

Apart from Saifuddin, starman Mustafizur Rahman was on target as well. He took 3 wickets and accompanied Saifuddin pretty well in the end. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, in-form Irfan Sukkur and pacer Taskin Ahmed were his prey.

Spinning all rounder Mahadi Hasan took the other two wickets giving away 34 runs from his 8 overs.

Mushfiq's yet another fifty

While most of the experienced batsmen struggled to score runs in the BCB President's Cup, Mushfiq was on top of his form from the word go. He scored the only hundred in the tournament so far, a fifty in the previous match, and yet another fifty today. He along with Afif Hossain Dhrubo built a 90-run partnership for the 4th wicket to repair the early damage. Najmul XI was 15 for 3 at that stage.

Mushfiq scored 51 off 75 deliveries with 3-fours and a six, while Afif went back to the pavilion scoring 40 off 61 balls. The southpaw scored 98 in the previous match and continued his good form today.

No other batsmen really got comfortable at the crease and managed to score big. 12 runs came from extras.

The other team of the tournament, Mahmudullah XI will be looking at this match eagerly as their luck depends on the result of this match. Najmul XI has pretty much cemented their place in the final already. A win for Tamim XI will see them through to the final as well. But if Tamim XI lose tonight, it will be Mahmudullah XI facing Najmul XI in the all important final.

Brief score: Najmul XI 165/10 (39.3 Overs) Mushfiqur Rahim 51, Afif Hossain Dhrubo 40, Tauhid Hridoy 13. Saifuddin 26/5, Mustafizur Rahman 36/3, Mahadi Hasan 34/2
