Tamim to undergo treatment at London

Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal has been suffering from severe pain in his stomach for the past three months. The local doctors could not identify the problem and thus, seeing no other way, Tamim will be travelling to London to undergo treatment. 

Tamim will fly to London on Saturday. The left-handed batsman confirmed it to The Business Standard (TBS) himself. 

As the local doctors failed to detect his problem, Tamim was taking consultations from a doctor in London online. And as per that doctor's suggestion, Tamim will be heading to London. 

Tamim has already informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury about him travelling to London. Tamim will have to take a  coronavirus laissez-passer to travel and he said that he will get it by Saturday.

Tamim suddenly felt severe pain in his stomach three months ago. At first, Tamim paid no heed towards it. He had thought that it was food poisoning. But the pain started again. And in the last few weeks, the pain has only aggravated. 

"Three months ago, I started having severe pain in my stomach. The pain was there for a long time. I thought that it was food poisoning. But a few days later, the pain came back. In the past three weeks, I felt the pain thrice. The pain is so much that it is almost impossible to endure it," Tamim told TBS.

Tamim contacted the doctors about this and went through some pathological tests. But the problem could not be identified and thus he was advised to travel to London. 

Tamim said, "I went through some pathological tests after going to the hospital but the problem could not be detected. That is why I contacted the doctor in London. He told me to go to London as soon as possible."

Tamim wanted to undergo treatment in Bangkok or Singapore. But as regular flights from Bangladesh to these countries are still not operational, Tamim's hand has been forced to go to London. 

"It would have been better for me if I had gone to London or Bangkok. But that is not possible now and so I have to go to London. I have to undergo a critical test and I will do that in London," Tamim said.
