Tamim returns for second practice match tomorrow

Cricket in Bangladesh was on hold for a long time due to the outbreak of Covid-19. The cricketers were allowed to practice individually but competitive cricket is yet to return. But the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is planning to bring back cricket soon. A two-day practice match involving the cricketers was held on September 2 and 3. The second two-day match is going to start from Monday.

In the first match, ODI skipper Tamim Iqbal missed out. But he is going to return in the next match. The southpaw will play for the Ryan Cook XI.

Fast bowler Shafiul Islam did not play the previous two-day match due to slight injury. He will not be playing in the next match as well. Off-spinning all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz will also miss the match to stay with his expectant wife. Abu Jayed Rahi, who has been under observation despite being negative for Covid-19, will not play too.

The match will begin on Monday at 9.30 pm.

The cricketers will continue training after the match ends. A three-day match was supposed to be held but it has been cancelled. The BCB is going to arrange a One Day tournament involving the national team, A team and High Performance team.

Teams:

Ottis Gibson XI: Saif Hassan, Imrul Kayes, Nazmul Hossain Shanto (c), Mahmudullah, Liton Das, Soumya Sarkar, Mosaddek Hossain, Nayeem Hasan, Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain.

Ryan Cook XI: Tamim Iqbal, Yasir Ali, Shadman Islam, Mominul Haque (c), Mushfiqur Rahim, Mohammad Mithun, Nurul Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Taijul Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Khaled Ahmed, Al-Amin Hossain.
