The name of the tournament is yet to be disclosed. It will begin on October 11, as announced by the BCB president Nazmul Hassan on Tuesday.

Bangladesh's tour of Sri Lanka has been postponed indefinitely due to the disagreement among the boards regarding quarantine period. Bangladesh don't have any international fixtures before January next year. That is why the Bangladesh Cricket  Board (BCB) is chalking out plans to resume domestic cricket in Bangladesh.

The BCB is going to host a three-team One Day tournament at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium. The name of the tournament is yet to be disclosed. It will begin on October 11, as announced by the BCB president Nazmul Hassan on Tuesday.

Tamim Iqbal, Mahmudullah and Nazmul Hossain Shanto will be captaining the three teams in the tournament. The teams have been named Tamim Iqbal XI, Mahmudullah XI and Nazmul Hossain XI.

The BCB has announced three teams with a fair bit of mix of youth and experience. Some of the members of the World Cup-winning  under-19 side have been included as well. They include skipper Akbar Ali, opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim and middle-order batsman Shahadat Hossain. Sabbir Rahman, who has been in and out of the side, has been given an opportunity. He will play for the Mahmudullah XI.

The teams will play against each other twice and the teams topping the points table will compete in the final on the 23rd. The BCB will telecast all the matches of the group stage on its channel live and the final will be televised, as informed by the Nazmul Hassan.

"The cricketers have played a couple of games. Now we are going to host a tournament from October 11. It will be o one-day tournament and we will include as many cricketers as we can in the teams. A maximum of 15 cricketers will be there in the teams and all of them will play at least two matches," the BCB presidential said on Tuesday.

In addition, he said, "I think the teams are very good. We are including three teams in the tournament. The final match will be televised. The other matches will be streamed live and telecast on the radio."

It was planned that Mushfiqur Rahim would captain one of the teams. But the veteran batsman did not want to do so. "The tournament hasn't been named yet. The teams have been named after the captains. Mushfiq was supposed to lead one of the teams but he is reluctant. So Shanto will lead the team. Tamim and Mahmudullah will lead the other two. The tournament will start on October 11 and the final will be held on October 23" mentioned Nazmul Hassan.

After the one-day tournament, a corporate T20 tournament will be held. Five teams will participate in that tournament. It is supposed to begin mid-November.

"After the one-day tournament, we will arrange a competitive T20 tournament. We haven't yet decided whether it will be a corporate league or the BCB will be the sponsor. But it will definitely happen," said the BCB boss.

The BCB is contemplating the participation of overseas players in that tournament as well. "We had a discussion on the inclusion of overseas players. I said that I would inform the day after tomorrow. Five teams will participate in the tournament, so 75 players can play," said Nazmul Hassan.

"The corporate league will begin mid-November. We have not yet decided whether an auction will be held. We are yet to decide on the inclusion of the overseas players," he added.
