Taijul Islam always has the desire to represent Bangladesh across all three forms of cricket. But he has been labeled as a 'test bowler' and is given limited opportunities in white-ball cricket.
With a view to fulfilling the desire to play all formats, the slow left-arm bowler has been working hard and has already changed his bowling action completely. Besides, he has been working on a new special delivery.
Taijul has been getting the results of changing the action. Bowling for two consecutive overs hasn't been exhausting him much. He said on Tuesday, "I have spoken to (Daniel) Vettori regarding my action. It has suited me quite well. I have bowled to batsmen with this new action. Now I don't get much tired even after bowling for two hours."
"To extract more turn and bounce off the pitch, I have changed my action. The new action is enabling me to bring some variety to my bowling," he added.
Daniel Vettori, Bangladesh's spin bowling consultant, suggested that Taijul should change the action in order to play all formats. The new action completely resembles the action of Daniel Vettori himself. Taijul desires to succeed more with this remodeled action.
"It was tough being away from cricket for so long. We always love to play. The upcoming tour is very important. If it happens, we will be able to make a comeback to the field. It would be excellent to return," concluded Taijul.
