Sunny, Al-Amin returns in Tigers T20 squad for India series
As it is expected, opener Tamim Iqbal who took rest and skipped the one-off Test against Afghanistan and subsequent Tri-nation T20 series involving Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will be back into the squad.
Pace bowler Al-Amin Hossain and left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny made the cut in the national fold after three years as Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member squad for the three-match T20 Internationals series against India.
Both of them played last T20 match for Bangladesh during the World T20 in India.
As it is expected, opener Tamim Iqbal who took rest and skipped the one-off Test against Afghanistan and subsequent Tri-nation T20 series involving Zimbabwe and Afghanistan will be back into the squad.
The day when the team was announced, Tamim sustained a muscle strain that ruled him out for the second round of National Cricket League (NCL) game but the team management hoped that he will be okay by the time when the series starts.
Shakib Al Hasan will lead the side, in which Sabbir Rahman, considered as T20 specialist was overlooked following his poor return in this format. Along with Sabbir, Taijul Islam, Abu Haider Rony, Yasin Arafat Mishu, who was in the last T20 squad for Bangladesh were axed.
The promising player Naim Sheikh kept his place despite not playing any match in the Tri-nation T20 series along with leg-spin sensation Aminul Islam Biplob who after his promising debut against Zimbabwe, sustained an injury and missed the rest of the series.
Bangladesh will play their first T20 match against India on November 3 in Delhi. The second and third match is on November 7 and 10 in Rajkot and Nagpur respectively.
After the T20 series, Bangladesh will play two-match Test series against
India.
