Standard Chartered win Banker’s Championship
The tournament which began on 7 Feruary was played between 16 teams divided into four groups.
The Bashundhara Group presents Banker's Championship Trophy 2020, powered by Saif Power Tec Group was won by Standard Chartered Bank as they defeated Eastern Bank by 32 runs.
Taking place in the Gulshan Youth Club over the last one month and seven days, Standard Chartered chose to bat first after winning the toss.
Despite the excellent bowling from former Bangladesh cricketer Mahmudul Hasan Rana, Standard Chartered posted a challenging 163-9 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Eastern Bank couldn't put up much of a fight and were all out for 131 runs.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan was present as chief guest and handed out the trophy to the winners: "I watched a few of the games on television and liked what I saw. What I liked most was seeing bankers on a cricket field and it felt nice to see their passion for the game."
