Shakib joins conditioning camp

Bangladesh's Test and T20I captain Shakib Al Hasan joined the Tigers' conditioning camp for their India tour on Saturday. 

The conditioning camp commenced on Friday, October 25 but Shakib was missing on that given day. Head coach Russell Domingo, pace bowling coach Charl Langaveldt and spin bowling consultant Daniel Vettori joined the camp on Friday. 

Shakib had given birth to another controversy as according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), his newly-signed contract with Grameenphone breaches his (Shakib) contract with the board. 

After the day's camp, pacer Al-Amin Hossain, who has returned to the national side after a long break, talked with the media. 

Al-Amin said that this was a big opportunity for him as he came back to the side after almost three and a half years and he will try his best to make this chance count. 

Questioned about how he was talking with the new fast bowling coach about the plan and his skillset, Al-Amin replied that every bowler had a different skillset and it was the coach's job to give the plan, but it was his duty to execute the plan on the field. He added that the planning would depend on the conditions in India. He also said that he was not thinking about playing Test matches now and as he has been picked for the T20I side, he is focusing on how he can help the team in this certain format. 

Al-Amin was said that he had a bad image earlier and was asked if he wants to remove that tag off himself. In reply, Al-Amin said, "That was three and a half years ago. When you are out of the side, you learn a lot of things. The mistakes I have done off the field, I hope that will not be repeated in the future."

BCB President Nazmul Hassan also visited the camp on Saturday, where he was looking forward to meeting with the newly-appointed Tigers' spin consultant Daniel Vettori. The BCB president said he had not met the former New Zealand spinner yet and that is why he wanted to have a chat with him (Vettori). 

Nazmul said that his other intention was to talk with the coach about the squad and planning for the Tigers' upcoming India tour, but it was too early for that.

Bangladesh's tour of India commences on the 3rd of November, with a T20I match at Delhi.
