Bangladesh’s ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan has joined the conditioning camp under BCB on Saturday.
Shakib had taken a long break after providing a mercurial performance at the World Cup, where he scored 606 runs and picked up 11 wickets, a feat nobody achieved before him. He was not included in the Sri Lanka series as he was on leave, and later on, he went to Saudi Arabia to perform the holy Hajj. After performing the Hajj, he spent some quiet time with his family in the USA and was reached Dhaka around 3 AM yesterday. Today, he joined the camp.
This is the first time Bangladesh’s Test and T20 captain will meet the new head coach Russell Domingo, who arrived a few days ago. Fielding coach Ryan Cook and fast bowling coach Charl Langeveldt has also arrived, and the players are participating in the conditioning camp under trainer Mario Villavarayan since the 19th of August.
The Tigers next series is the one-off test match against Afghanistan which starts on the 5th of September.
