Players to return to training tomorrow
Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Shafiul Islam, Khaled Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan, Nurul Hasan and Nayeem Hasan will be practising separately from Sunday.
Finally, the wait is over for the cricketers. Four different grounds across the country are going to be made available for cricketers to practice from Sunday. For now, nine cricketers are going to start practising.
Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) made all the preparations quite a while before. But the highest cricketing governing body of the country didn't start the proceedings because of the current Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh. Moreover, they turned down the requests of cricketers to allow them to practice.
But this time around, BCB reconsidered their requests and asked how many cricketers were interested to start practising. Nine of them responded.
Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes, Mohammad Mithun, Shafiul Islam, Khaled Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan, Nurul Hasan and Nayeem Hasan will be practising separately from Sunday.
Mushfiqur, Imrul, Mithun and Shafiul will practice at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur while Mahedi and Nurul will do so at Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna. Khaled and Nasum will practice at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Off-spinner Nayeem Hasan will practice in Chattogram.
Cricketers have been instructed to practice alone. For now, they will be allowed to do only running and gym.
Batsmen can do 45-minute skill training. But the batsmen who are outside Dhaka, as well as the fast bowlers, have been instructed to stick to fitness training only.
The medical team of BCB will monitor all the time how the proceedings go and keep an eye on cricketers whether they abide by the protocols.
