Veteran cricketer Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has been helping insolvent people and monitoring the situation of his constituency Narail-2 from the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. But recently he has faced an embarrassing situation regarding a news headline on an online news portal.

A person named Titas Kazi left his pregnant wife Iti Khanam on the streets a week ago. Few days after the incident, she was sent back to her husband's house at Mashrafe's intervention. The news was published on an online news portal on 8 June.

The headline of the news offended the former captain as he expressed his anger on Facebook. Mashrafe told The Business Standard, "This is not journalism by any means. Journalists' job is to present the truth. I respect this profession. But this kind of news does not reflect it. I would request them to present the truth always."

An agitated Mashrafe expressed his anger through a status on his official Facebook page.
