Even after setting the record, Jewel is not completely satisfied with his timing.

The swimming of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games started on Saturday.
Initially, there was a 200m backstroke. Jewel Ahmed stormed the pool and started as a favourite.
Not only did he win gold, but the country's best swimmer also broke his previous record in the 200m backstroke.
His previous record was in 2 minutes 16.13 seconds in 2019. This time it took him 2 minutes 16.12 seconds to complete.
"For me, gold medals were more important than records," Jewel told the media after his new record at the Syed Nazrul Islam National Swimming Complex in Mirpur.
Even after setting the record, Jewel is not completely satisfied with his timing.
"Preparations were disrupted due to the corona situation. Otherwise, the timing could have been better."
