Mustafiz is fun to work with: Gibson

He emerged as one of the finest young prospects of world cricket but soon faded away with injuries. Mustaqfizur Rahman is still far from the standard he promised to reach. At one point, the Bangladesh cricket team's bowling coach Ottis Gibson warned him that he could be dropped from the Test side if he shows no visual improvement, especially with the inswing deliveries. 

Mustafiz listened. He worked hard during the quarantine, added new armor to his arsenal, and now blazing all guns together. Ottis Gibson has been thoroughly impressed with the southpaw's gradual improvement and hailed him during his press brief to the media on Thursday. 

What impressed Ottis and the spectators the most is Mustafiz's consistent inswinging deliveries in recent times. He has very well grabbed a hold on this. Ottis hoped this is just the beginning and there will be more deliveries swinging in in the upcoming matches. Ottis is also loving his time with Mustafiz and mentioned he is fun to work with. 

"He has worked really hard. Good to work with. He is fun to work with. We have tried to get the ball swinging back. We have worked on many different things with his wrist position. When he gets it right, he has proved to himself that he can swing it back in. Hopefully, he will go from strength to strength and get better. More balls, in the coming matches, you will see swinging back in," said Ottis Gibson. 

Ottis Gibson also hailed the debutant Hasan Mahmud and mentioned that his performance didn't surprise him at all. He has been under their radar for quite some time now and he has worked hard for the development every while. 

"He (Hasan Mahmud) didn't surprise me at all, that's why we picked him. We have seen the progress that he has made. He has been with us now probably for the last 12 months since Pakistan last year. We have seen him develop nicely. So it was good that he got his opportunity. Three wickets in his debut is a good reward for the hard work that he has been putting in," added Gibson. 

Tigers will be playing their second match against Windies on Friday and will be eyeing to wrap the series.
