The right-handed all-rounder has been going through a bad patch, failing to score big in his last 10 international innings.

Mahmudullah Riyad hits a ton in the inter-squad practice game on Friday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

The right-handed all-rounder was going through a bad patch as he failed to show anything impressive in his last 10 international innings.

However, with this timely ton, he tunes up his beat ahead of Bangladesh’s solitary Test against Afghanistan which will commence on September 5 at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

In his last 10 ODI innings, Mahmudullah hit only a fifty-69 against Australia in the World Cup. However, the right-handed batsman struck three centuries in his last 10 Test innings.

Shakib Al Hasan-led Bangladesh Red won the toss and opted to bat first. They accumulated 268 runs all-out in 84.1 overs.

Mahmudullah was the highest runs getter hitting 107 off 189 balls with 10 fours while Abu Hider Rony hit 40 and Sabbir Rahman scored 34.

Shakib batted twice but failed to impress. In the first chance, he suffered a golden duck while facing Taskin Ahmed. In the second time, he posted 9 before falling prey to Taijul Islam by lbw.

Taskin took four wickets conceding 45 runs in 12.1 overs while Ebadot Hossain bagged three. Taijul, Mosaddek Hossain and Ariful Haque scalped one wicket each.

The match will resume on August 31 with the first innings of Bangladesh Green.
