Veteran batsman Mahmudullah is set to miss the one-off ODI against Pakistan in April.

He already appealed to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for leave, citing his wife's pregnancy.

BCB Chief Selector Minhazul Abedin confirmed this to The Business Standard.

"Mahmudullah told us that his wife is expecting a baby at that time. He wants to be at her side. Mahmudullah wants to withdraw himself from the ODI. He already wrote an application to the board. But we have not decided anything yet. The decision will come out soon", said Minhazul.

Mahmudullah was dropped from the Test squad against Zimbabwe recently.

Bangladesh will play the only ODI of the split series against Pakistan on April 3.

The second Test of the series starts on April 5.
