Kohli on the brink of longest century drought
The last time he scored an international hundred was in November 2019 against Bangladesh in the historic pink ball Test.
Virat Kohli, India's captain across all three forms of the game, has been a vital cog in the wheel for India for more than a decade. But his recent form has been not as good as he would have liked as he has gone 25 international innings without a hundred. The last time he scored an international hundred was in November 2019 against Bangladesh in the historic pink ball Test.
This is the first calendar year since 2008 when Kohli has not made an ODI hundred. He has got two fifties in the ongoing series against Australia but couldn't get any hundred.
This is Kohli's joint longest drought in terms of innings. He had to wait 25 innings to get a three-figure score in 2014. Therefore, if he fails to score a hundred in his next international innings, it will be his longest barren patch.
However, the Indian skipper has gone past 12000 ODI runs during the third ODi between India and Australia. He got there in only 242 innings, breaking the record of Sachin Tendulkar who took 300 innings to reach 12000 runs.
