A youth team coach in Italy was fired after his side secured a 27-0 victory over their opponents. According to the club, the winning margin was 'disrespectful' to the opposing team.

Massimiliano Riccini, coach of the Invicta Sauro youth, got the axe, after his side's massive win over Marina Calcio. The result, 27-0, made the club's president upset, "We were stunned and deeply regretful when hearing that our Juniores team had beaten Marina Calcio 27-0," said President Paolo Brogelli, via Football Italia.

"The values of youth team football are antithetical to such a thing. The opponent must always be respected and that did not happen today.

"As President, I sincerely apologize to the Marina Club. I announce that our directors decided, unanimously, to sack coach Riccini.

Our trainers must not only teach the youth but also to educate. In this case, that did not happen," said Brogelli.
