Rana currently leads the chart of leading wicket-takers and was once again pivotal as he picked up three wickets and became the man of the match on Chattogram’s path to victory over Khulna Titans which ensured the side a playoff spot.

The ongoing Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 2019-20 has been a haven for the local seamers as fast bowlers like Hasan Mahmud, Ebadot Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman and Shahidul Islam have been under the limelight for their impressive performances. But if you had to pick one among all of them, that has to be Chattogram Challengers' young seamer Mehedi Hasan Rana.

Rana currently leads the chart of leading wicket-takers and was once again pivotal as he picked up three wickets and became the man of the match on Chattogram's path to victory over Khulna Titans which ensured the side a playoff spot.

Mehedi's three wickets on the day were once again impressive as he showed his prowess with the ball to bamboozle Hashim Amla, sending him back for a duck. Rana was asked in the press conference if Amla's wicket felt good because it was the great South African batsman, but Rana replied that he did not think about if it was Amla or not during bowling and only wanted to maintain his standards.

"When a batsman comes to the crease, I don't think if he is Amla or not. I just think of bowling according to my standards, because I have been successful bowling like that," the 23-year old said.

Mehedi has 17 wickets in the tournament so far and pipped Mustafizur at the top with his three wickets today. But Mehedi said that he does not count his wickets, rather he plans match by match.

"I am not counting my wickets, I am thinking match by match, how can I do well in the next match," Rana added.

Rana also added that even though he was enjoying his rivalry with Mustafizur, he was not thinking about him crossing Mustafizur in the top wicket-takers list.

Mehedi further added that he had been doing well in the tournament and hopes of doing the same throughout the tournament.
