Former Bangladesh cricket team captain and current Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) selector Habibul Bashar has tested positive for the Coronavirus.

Bashar was unwell with heavy fever for the past two days and after testing for Covid-19 on Wednesday, the result came out positive.

However, his other family members have tested negative for the virus.

"I had a bad fever for the last two days. So I decided to get tested and the result showed that I'm Covid-19 positive. I'm feeling much better now thankfully," Bashar told The Business Standard.

Bashar, 48, has been the third high profile name in Bangladesh's cricketing fraternity to contract the virus after Mahmudullah Riyad and Mominul Haque tested positive in the last two days.
