Biman flight BG 021 was sent for servicing work

A flight of Biman Bangladesh flew to Oman carrying 26-member National Football team today morning hours after their pervious flight made emergency landing due to technical errors.

"The flight carrying the members of the team left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 10.30am," said Tahera Khandoker, General Manager of Biman Bangladesh.

"Biman flight BG 021, the aircraft that faced glitch, has been sent for servicing," she added.

National Football team was supposed to fly to Oman on Sunday to play their away match for the joint qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023 against Oman on November 14.

But the flight (BG 021) was canceled due to technical errors.

The Pilot of the airplane became aware of the difficulty after taking off. He then decided not to continue with the flight and landed the craft back safely.

National Team coach Jamie Day and Captain Jamal Bhuiyan will join the squad today. Day is in the USA and Jamal will join from Spain.

Bangladeshi booters will start a 10-day training camp there that also includes a practice match against a top football club of Oman. Bangladesh have been put in Group E of the AFC Cup with Qatar, Oman, Afghanistan and neighbouring India.
