Fast bowler Qazi Onik banned for two years

Onik will be eligible to play cricket again from 8 February 2021 which is seven months away from now.

Left-arm fast bowler Qazi Onik has been banned by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) after he had failed the dope test. According to BCB, he has been banned from 8 February 2019 to 7 February 2021.

A media release from BCB suggested that Onik violated the 8.3 section of BCB's anti-doping code by taking methamphetamine during a tournament in 2018.

Onik will be eligible to play cricket again from 8 February 2021 which is seven months away from now.

The 21-year old grabbed headlines when he took four wickets on his BPL debut for Rajshahi Kings. The paceman was a key member in the under-19 World Cup for Bangladesh in 2018.
