Archery team win six out of six gold medals

It was a clean sweep for Bangladesh as they won all three categories of recurve and compound events.

Bangladesh won six gold medals from archery recurve and compound events on the 8th day of the 13th South Asian games.

Bangladesh men's team beat Sri Lanka by 3-2 set in the finals of archery recurve team event in Kathmandu.

Ace archer Roman Sana leads the men's team with Tamimul Islam and Hakim Ahmed the other two members.

Sana was satisfied with his performance. He aims to win all of the remaining events of the day.

"This is my first SA Games. I am delighted to win my first gold. We have qualified for all the finals. Hopefully, we can win them all." said Sana. 

After the men's team, the women's team also grabbed gold in the same category by beating Sri Lanka women's team.

Bangladesh team comprising of Eaty Khatun, Mehnaz Akhter and Beauty Rot defeated their Lankan counterparts by 6-0 sets. 

Then, they teamed up to beat Bhutan by 6-2 sets for the mixed recurve final. It was a clean sweep for Bangladesh in men's, women's and mixed in recurve event of archery.

In the men's team compound event, Bangladesh beat Bhutan to secure another gold. Also, in the women's division in the same category, the archers beat Sri Lanka to win fifth gold of the day from archery. 

Gold was evident in the mixed compound also. Bangladesh did not disappoint and beat Nepal to make it six out of six gold medals on the day from archery. 

Bangladesh have now earned six golds from 10 archery final events on the 8th day.

They are expecting more golds from the remaining finals.  

Bangladesh now have 14 golds from the ongoing 13th SA Games in Nepal.
