Fifties from Mehedi Maruf, Naeem Islam and Nasir Hossain have given Rangpur a 62-run lead in the first innings with four wickets to spare against Rajshahi in after day two in their Tier 1 National Cricket League (NCL) match at Cox's Bazar.

Mehedi top-scored with 78 while Naeem scored 54 and Nasir remained not-out on 55 at stumps.

There was also a useful 47 from Ariful Haque in the middle order.

In the other match, Dhaka look set to score big at 206-2 after Khulna posted 371 runs in their first innings in a batsman dominated Tier 1 match at Cox's Bazar.

For Dhaka, Rony Talukdar (73) and Joyraz Sheik (51) gave them a 125-run opening stand before they were dismissed.

But from there, Saif Hassan - fresh from his double century in the last game - and Raqibul Hassan remained not out at stumps on 41 and 38 runs respectively.
