De Ligt is set to reject Barcelona to join PSG in an astounding deal of 85 million Euros

Matthijs de Ligt was one of the best defenders of last season, and he was the most sought after player in this transfer window. And it looks like, Paris Saint Germain are getting their hands on him in a deal which will cost around 85 million euros.

Barcelona were lauded to be the frontrunner to get his signature on the dotted line, with reports suggesting that de Ligt would join his fellow countryman Frenkie de Jong at Camp Nou. Barcelona had struck a deal with Ajax, but they couldn’t complete the deal because they refused to pay the players agent 15 million Euros as commision. And now, they are most likely to miss out on the 19-year old.

Reports suggest that PSG are ready to offer de Ligt 20 million Euros per year, where the Blaugranas only offered him seven.

PSG have been known for splashing out big money, and they broke the world record to bring Neymar from Barcelona. They also fought with Barcelona for de Jong, but he decided to join his boyhood dream club.

De Ligt is claimed to be one of the biggest prospects of European football, a legend in the making. The question would now be, is he making the right choice? Because when you have too many options, you might fail to.
