Cricket resumes in Australia with spectators

There has been no international cricket since March 13 due to the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic. Sri Lankan cricket team has already started practicing as the situation is relatively better there. West Indies are to tour England for a three-match Test series. Cricket is set to resume after the Coronavirus hiatus. But the spectators ideally won't be allowed to watch the games live from stadium.

But the scenario is different altogether in Australia. Competitive cricket has returned in Australia with spectators. 

A Twenty20 tournament has been organised on the occasion of the birthday of the Queen. The tournament is being played in round robin format, featuring eight teams. The tournament started on the 6th of June and the final is scheduled to be held on June 8.

The matches are being played across three venues in Darwin. The matches usually start at 10 am local time and finish at half past two. A maximum of 500 spectators are being allowed to watch the games.

No cases have been reported in Darwin since the beginning of the third week of May. Chairman of the local cricket committee said, "No saliva has been used as per the instruction of ICC. I hope there won't be any problem."

Australia is scheduled to host this year's T20 World Cup. But there has been doubts whether the tournament can go ahead as scheduled.
