A century from Andre Fletcher and a 90 from Johnson Charles helped Sylhet Thunder win big by 81-runs against Khulna Tigers in their Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match at Chattogram.
The century, a 103-run innings, was also the first one by any player in this edition of the BPL and it came off just 57 balls with 11 fours and five sixes.
Fletcher's Windies teammate, also playing for the Sylhet Thunder, Johnson Charles scored a blistering 90 off just 38 balls with a whopping strikerate of 236.84.
In reply, Khulna never really threatened to get close to the mammoth 233-run target and were all-out for 152 in 18.3 overs.
The only batsman to show some fight was South African Rilee Rossouw, who struck 52 off 32 balls in an innings that had four boundaries and as many sixes.
The others, unfortunately, were dismissed cheaply with the asking rate going over 14 early on in the chase.
Another South African, Robbie Frylinck scored 44 off just 20 balls in the end but that too went in vain.
Krishmar Santokie was the top wicket-taker on the day with 3-37 for Sylhet Thunder while Ebadat Hossain was most economical conceding just 15 runs and taking a wicket in his 3.1 overs.
Earlier, in form Khulna Tigers have put the Sylhet Thunder to bat first.
Tigers skipper Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and elected to field first.
Tigers have won all of their three matches with strong batting performances from the likes of Mushfiqur and Rilee Rossouw.
Sylhet Thunder have seen the flip side as they lost four consecutive matches and are second to bottom in the table.. Mosaddek Hossain's team needs to pick up some valuable points to get their confidence back.
With this win, Khulna remain in second spot with six points from four matches and three wins while Sylhet now are up from the bottom of the pile with two points and one win from five games.
