Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will install giant screens in all seven divisional cities of the country to telecast the opening ceremony of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) live on December 8, confirmed board president Nazmul Hasan Papon on Thursday.

The new season of BPL is rebranded as Bangabandhu BPL to pay tribute to the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

"We can't provide the required tickets according to demand. That's why, we've decided to install giant screens in all divisional cities of the country as spectators can enjoy the opening programme live," Nazmul told the media on Thursday at Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.

Nazmul confirmed the BCB will install giant screens at least at five places in Dhaka- TSC, Gulshan Club, Banani Club, Rabindra Sarobar and City Club Field, Mirpur.

Earlier, BCB said only eight thousand tickets are available for the opening ceremony. A big part of those tickets will be sent to the club officials, former cricketers, sponsors and government authorities. Five thousand tickets will be sold out to the general spectators.

In the opening ceremony, Bangladeshi singer James and Momtaz will perform in the musical event while Bollywood actors Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and singers Sonu Nigam and Kailash Kher will also perform at the grand opening ceremony.

Gazi tv, Maasranga tv and News24 will telecast the opening ceremony live.
