A cricketer who is part of the preliminary squad said that Biplob has actually been called up so that the batters can practice against leg-spin.

Bangladesh national cricket team started practising ahead of the Sri Lanka ODIs on May 18. All the members of the preliminary squad participated in the training session. Interestingly, leg-spinner Aminul Islam Biplob was spotted in Mirpur despite not being in the squad.

Biplob, who isn't part of the squad, trained with the team on Tuesday. On asked whether he is added to the squad, chief selector Minhajul Abedin said that the youngster has been called up to participate in the intra-squad warm-up match.

Abedin told The Business Standard (TBS), "Biplob hasn't been added to the squad. We will play an intra-squad match before the series starts. So we need players. We have called him up keeping that in mind. He will stay in the bio-bubble with the team."

The cricketers of the preliminary squad are due to play a warm-up match among themselves on May 21 at BKSP.

The young leg-spinner will feature in that match.

A cricketer who is part of the preliminary squad said that Biplob has actually been called up so that the batters can practice against leg-spin.

Sri Lanka have two leg-spinners in the form of Wanindu Hasaranga and Ashen Bandara in their squad.

Sri Lanka will lock horns with Bangladesh in the first ODI at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on May 23. The visitors will play two more ODIs on the same venue on May 25 and 28. All the matches will be part of the ODI Super League.
