Bilal, Asjad reach final of Sheikh Kamal Memorial 1st Saarc Snooker Championship

In the first semifinal, Md Bilal whitewashed Sandeep Gulati of India 6-0 while in the other semi, Asjad Iqbal defeated Laxman Rawat - also from India - 5-4 in a hotly contested affair.

It will be a final between two Pakistani players Md Bilal and Asjad Iqbal in the Sheikh Kamal Memorial 1st Saarc snooker Championship, 2019 at the Dhaka Club on Thursday.

In the first semifinal, Md Bilal whitewashed Sandeep Gulati of India 6-0 while in the other semi, Asjad Iqbal defeated Laxman Rawat - also from India - 5-4 in a hotly contested affair.

Bilal took two of the first three frames in the last ball block, which disheartened his opponent and led to such a one-sided game later on. At the same time, Bilal was extremely ruthless and efficient with his approach and didn’t give Sandeep any further chances.

In the other game, Asjad took a 4-1 lead over Laxman, despite losing the first frame. From there Laxman, made a spirited comeback to win the next three frames and make it 4-4. However, in the last two frames, Asjad held his nerve to win it 6-4 and set up a final with his compatriot Bilal.
