During the time of the coronavirus, people have fallen into trouble as the income sources of many have been cut off because of the apparent lockdown.
Among them are the team boys and massage men of the Bangladesh national cricket team. With all kind of sporting events halted, these people have no source of income.
In such a dire situation, the 'big five' of the Bangladesh men's cricket team, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Shakib Al Hasan, Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah Riyad, have come forward to help these team boys and massage men. Each of them will donate Tk 1 lac each to help around 50 team boy and massage men, Tamim confirmed it to The Business Standard (TBS).
Current ODI skipper Tamim informed that it was Mushfiq who took the initiative. Tamim told TBS, "We have taken an initiative to help the team boys and massage men with money. Mushfiq took the initiative and then talked to the four of us."
Tamim added, "Shakib is also included in this initiative, which means the five of us. Mushfiq asked us all and we agreed to contribute Tk 1 lac each. This will help them to pass three months without any problem. Mushfiq initiated it and then we all agreed and now we are doing it together."
This initiative is looked after from the team boys' side by Prime Bank team boy Delwar Hossain Sentu. He told TBS, "We work in the domestic league. All kind of sports is halted now. So, we had asked for help to Mushfiq bhai, Tamim bhai. They had said that they will look into it. Then they have helped us with money. We are not under BCB's contract. We have not received any help from the board yet."
Each of these players are helping to battle coronavirus from their own place. Mashrafe is looking after the people at Narail, where he is the MP. Shakib is working with his 'Shakib Al Hasan Foundation' whereas Mushfiq donated 200 PPE to Bagura Medical College Hospital.
