Day 1 stumps, 43-run 6th wicket partnership keeps WI in the game

The visitors end the day without losing another wicket as a solid 43 run partnership between Bonner (74 off 143 balls) and J Da Silva (22 off 46 balls) steadies the ship. WI scored 223 runs losing 5 wickets throughout the day.  

3:23 pm

Taijul gets Blackwood out after taking a stunning catch head-on. Windies are now at 178 for 5. Meanwhile, Bonner picks up his fifty. 

2:13 pm

West Indies goes to tea break without losing anymore wicket. Nkrumah Bonner (30 off 68 balls) and Jermaine Blackwood (18 off 35 balls) has put up a 30 run partnership. 

1:31 pm 

Abu Jayed manages to pick up the wicket of Kyle Mayers, who single-handedly won the previous match with a double century. 

Mayers' drive found the outside edge, and Soumya Sarkar pocketed a sharp catch at wide slip. 

After 48 over, West Indies are at 116/4. Abu Jayed picks two for 24 runs after bowling 12 overs.

Kraigg Brathwaite loses his wicket just three runs short of a half-century.

His attempt to cut the ball away landed to Najmul Hossain Shanto who took a stunner of a catch.

Soumya Sarker picks one conceding just 7 runs in 3 overs. 

12:28 pm

Bangladesh gets their second breakthrough after a short stint between Moseley and Brathwaite.  Abu Jayed's ball takes an inside edge before crashing into leg stump of Moseley. 

Windies are at 87/2 after 34 overs. 

11:30 am 

West Indies are in a comfortable position before lunch as the visitors scored 84 runs at the cost of one wicket in 29 overs. 

WI Skipper and opener Kraigg Brathwaite is at 39 (82) and Shayne Moseley scored 6 (25) runs. Taijul picked up one wicket at the cost of 21 runs bowling 9 overs.

Bangladesh manages to get their first breakthrough after Taijul trapped Campbell for an LBW. Windies opener took and lost review following umpire's decision. After 20.4 overs WI is at 66/1. 

10:25 am 

The visitors put 49 runs to their scoreboard without losing any wicket. Campbel scored 31 facing 42 balls and his partner Brathwaite made 17 runs off 40 balls. 

9:25 am

Windies elected to bat first after winning the all-important toss at Mirpur.

They replace Kemar Roach with Alzarri Joseph while Bangladesh made three changes to their playing eleven from the first match. Two of them were forced.

Shakib Al Hasan and Shadman Islam missing due to injury. Soumya Sarkar and Mohammad Mithun come in their place. Mustafizur Rahman has been replaced by Abu Jayed Rahi. 

Bangladesh lost the first Test by 3 wickets.
