BCB says no to Mushfiq's request of practicing in Mirpur stadium

Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has declined Mushfiqur Rahim's request to allow him to practice at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur.

Mushfiqur has been working hard on his fitness at home but believes there is nothing like batting at the nets.

Hence, the right-handed batsman requested BCB to allow him to practice at the SBNCS but BCB hasn't given green signal pondering the situation. 

Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, the CEO of BCB told the Business Standard, "We have spoken to Mushfiqur. We will allow him to practice once the situation becomes normal. He won't be able to practice alone. He will require net bowlers and groundsmen. Now the situation is not in our favour."

"We have to start sooner or later. We have been preparing for that. We will use the biosafety measures and the board will decide when the players can start practicing," he added.

Mushfiqur Rahim has also understood the situation. He told the Business Standard, "Three months have passed. It's a lot of time. That's why I requested the board to allow me to practice. But I understood the situation after they spoke to me. It will be risky. So it's better to stay home and wait."
