BCB likely to extend Domingo's contract
BCB President Nazmul Hassan hinted that Domingo might get a contract extension as it is yet to think about an alternate option.
There has been a lot of speculation regarding the future of Russell Domingo as the head coach of the Bangladesh national cricket team but the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is likely to extend his contract at least till the T20 World Cup this year.
BCB President Nazmul Hassan hinted that Domingo might get a contract extension as it is yet to think about an alternate option.
While speaking to the media on Sunday, he said, "There are 2-3 factors here. First and foremost, we have to decide whether we would renew the contract or not. Then if we don't renew it, we need to have an alternate option in mind which we don't have right now. We don't have anyone in mind ahead of the World Cup. We now have just started to get involved."
Hassan criticised the players as well for throwing the wickets away. "Look at our batting. How many wickets did they (Sri Lanka) earn? Were the shot selections good? This remains the problem, no matter how good coaches we bring. We have to sit with the players first and know what they are thinking. The way some of them got out was very ugly," he mentioned.
Bangladesh have a busy year ahead including the ICC T20 World Cup.
