Bangladesh Women’s A whitewashed by India Women’s A
The 2nd string Indian Women’s team made a flying start in the series beating Bangladesh A team by eight wickets in the first match.
Bangladesh Women's A team were whitewashed in the three-match one–day series against touring India Women's A team 0-3 losing the third and final match by seven wickets at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Tuesday.
The 2nd string Indian Women's team made a flying start in the series beating Bangladesh A team by eight wickets in the first match on Friday last and clinched the three-match series beating their Bangladesh counterparts by 68 runs in the 2nd match on Sunday.
In the day's 3rd match, Bangladesh opted to bat first after winning the toss but failed to make a challenging total as they were all out for 128 in 44.4 overs.
Sanjida Islam made team highest 44 runs off 87 balls featuring three fours. Mursida Khatun (33), Fargana Haque Pinky (16) and Fahima Khatun (10) were the other notable batters for Bangladesh reaching double digit runs.
For India, Tanushree Sarkar, Rashi Kanojia bagged three wickets each while Devika Vadiya scalped two wickets.
In reply, India chased down the target scoring 132 runs for the loss of three wickets in 39.2 overs to win the game by a big margin of seven wickets.
Bangladesh consistently showed a poor performance in the series in both with ball and bat. They failed to create any chance against the touring side. In contrast, India looked imperious throughout the series.
Both teams will now face each other in a three-match T20 series in Cox's Bazar. The matches will be held on October 11, 12 and 14 at Sheikh Kamal International Stadium in the beach town.
