Bangladesh lower-order works hard on batting ahead of Test

With the one-off Test match between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe on the horizon the hosts have been busy in training, honing their skills.

The lower-order batsmen have especially been busy in this period with the coaches working to improve their batting.

The likes of Abu Jayed Rahi, Ebadot Hossain, Nayeem Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mustafizur Rahman and Taskin Ahmed have been the bowlers in the squad seen working on their batting.

Head coach Russell Domingo, batting consultant Neil McKenzie and spin bowling consultant Daniel Vettori were the ones helping out during training.

One of the main reasons for this has been the recent performance of the lower-order against Pakistan in the Rawalpindi Test where they were out without adding much to the team total.

Against Zimbabwe, the Tigers want to avoid a repeat performance and get more assistance from the lower-order players when batting.

The bulk of the drilling was done by McKenzie and Vettori and for almost an hour-and-a-half they practiced.

Along with the bowlers, Mckenzie also working hard with Liton Das on his batting and this has become a regular scene in training since the South African joined the setup.

The Bangladesh Test Captain Mominul Haque and Mushfiqur Rahim – who returns to the squad after opting out of the Pakistan tour - was also among the few batsmen that practiced their batting.
