Bangladesh will host a tri-nation T20I tournament in September, Afghanistan and Zimbabwe will be the other two teams.
Afghanistan were set to tour Bangladesh in September for a complete tour with Tests, ODIs and T20Is. But now the boards have come to the decision to arrange a tri-nation tournament including Zimbabwe instead of a bilateral series.
The tri-nation tournament will start on 14th September with a match between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe. Bangladesh will play their first match against Afghanistan on 15th September. The final is set to be played on 23rd September. Each team will play against each other once in the round robin format. The venue for the tournament is yet to be decided.
This tournament will be the first action for the Bangladesh team after the World Cup, as the Tigers will get time to freshen up from the hectic tournament.
The Afghans will stay after the tri-nation tournament to play biteral test and ODI series against Bangladesh.
