Back-to-back centuries for Joty as Emerging Women team take 4-0 lead against South Africa

Captain Nigar Sultana Joty, also the wicketkeeper batter of the Bangladesh Emerging Women team has scored centuries in back-to-back games as they won the fourth one-dayer against South Africa Emerging Women by a whopping 110 runs. 

Batting first, Bangladesh Emerging scored 236/4 in their 50 overs before bundling South Africa Emerging for just 126 runs in 46.5 overs at the Sylhet International Stadium on Sunday. 

As a result, Bangladesh now lead the five-match one day series 4-0 and have won all four games comfortably. 

Joty's innings was a well-orchastrated one as she led from the front with eight boundaries and a six as she remained not out on 101 from 132 balls to ensure the hosts posted a formidable total in the end. 

The top-order batter found support in opener Murshida Khatun, who scored 41 from 78 balls and Shobhana Mostary, who scored 45 from 52 balls.

But the cameo from Lata Mondal, who scored 25 from just 16 balls with one four and a maximum was the icing on the cherry to ensure that Bangladesh Emerging lifted their run rate in the death overs.

For South Africa Emerging, Michaela Andrews, Nobulumko Baneti, and Lead Jones took one wicket each but they didn't find enough breakthroughs to stop the charge from the hosts. 

In bowling, Bangladesh never gave South Africa a sniff, taking wickets at regular intervals and making sure no partnerships were building. 

Nahida Khatun was the most successful bowler on the day for Bangladesh taking four wickets for just 29 runs. 

Salma Khatun was also impressive with the ball, taking two wickets for just 19 runs in her quota of ten overs.

Ritu Moni, Nahida Akter, Lata Mondal were also among the wickets as they chipped in with one wicket each.
