Army win gold in Bangladesh Games men’s football

Emon put Army ahead in the 20th minute while Sonjoy sealed the victory scoring the second goal for the winners’ in the 91st minute of the match.   

Bangladesh Army won gold in the men's football event of Bangabandhu 9th Bangladesh Games Football beating Sylhet district team by 2-0 goals in the final held today at Shaheed Dhirendranath Datta Stadium in Cumilla.

In the day's match, Emon put Army ahead in the 20th minute while Sonjoy sealed the victory scoring the second goal for the winners' in the 91st minute of the match.   

Earlier on the day, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), rode on Piyash's brilliant hat-trick, crushed Satkhira district by 8-0 goals to finished the third position in the meet.

In the proceeding, Piyash scored hat-trick with three goals, Morsalin and Faisal scored a brace each while Touhidul added the other one goal for BKSP in the one-sided affairs.

A total of ten teams, eight district teams along with BKSP and Bangladesh Army, took part in the meet, jointly organized by Bangladesh Football Federation and Bangladesh Olympic Association.
