In their 24th meeting with Mohammedan SC, it was the 11th victory for Abahani against Mohammedan’s five while the rest eight matches ended in a draw.

In a Titans battle, Dhaka Abahani Limited outplayed their traditional rivals Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club by 4-0 goals in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) Football at the floodlight Bangabandhu National Stadium here on Wednesday.

With the day's feat, Dhaka Abahani not only advanced to the top spot of the league but also took revenge for their 0-4 goals defeat against Mohammedan SC in the last league.

In their 24th meeting with Mohammedan SC, it was the 11th victory for Abahani against Mohammedan's five while the rest eight matches ended in a draw.

Earlier in the day's first match, defending champions Bashundhara Kings earned a hard-fought 2-1 goals victory over lowly Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society at the same venue in the afternoon.

After the day's matches, the six-time champions Dhaka Abahani Limited, holders Bashundhara Kings and Saif SC have secured 10 points each from four outings to dominate the league jointly.

Mohammedan SC and Rahmatganj MFS remained at six and one point respectively, also playing four matches.

In the day's first match, Russian World Cup playing Costa Rican forward Colindres put Bashundhara Kings ahead in the very 4th minute while Uzbek striker Tauraev levelled the margin for old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj in the 39th minute.

Kyrgyzstan booter Baktyir scored the match-winner for the Kings just a few seconds before the first half (45+1 minute).

In the day's match, big-budgeted Bashundhara Kings failed to impress their fans like the previous matches.

In the day's 2nd match, Haitian booter Belfort Kervens struck twice for the sky-blue popular Dhanmondi outfit Abahani in the 16th and 43rd minutes while Kyrgyzstan booter Edgar Bennhardt and Nabib Newas Zibon netted the remaining goals in the 33rd and 64th minutes respectively.

Belfort put Abahani ahead in the 16th minute by a good header, off Mamunul Islam Mamun's corner (1-0) while Edgar doubled the margin in the 33rd minute by a powerful right-footer, off Belfort pass (2-0).

Belfort scored the 3rd goal for Abahani in the 43rd minute scoring his 2nd goal (3-0) while local striker Nabib Newas Zibon sealed the fate of the match scoring the 4th goal in the 54th minute.
