Will Smith returns to music after two decades
Will Smith is making his long-awaited return to music with 'Based on a True Story', his first album since 2005's 'Lost and Found'. The album drops on 28 March via indie label Slang Records.
Smith confirmed the release on Instagram, writing, "been working on this project for a minute and I'm itchin' to get it out to y'all."
He further teased that the album is the first in a trilogy, hence the subtitle, 'Season 1: R I T W.' The album features previously released singles like 'Tantrum' and 'Work of Art' along with new tracks featuring longtime collaborator DJ Jazzy Jeff and Jac Ross.
Rising to fame as part of DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince, Smith later found solo success with hits like 'Gettin' Jiggy Wit It'. Now, he's ready to reclaim his spot in the rap game.
