Soulja Boy ordered to pay $4M in assault case
Rapper Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Way, has been ordered to pay over $4 million to a woman who accused him of sexual battery and abuse during their two-year relationship.
A Los Angeles jury found him liable for emotional distress, sexual harassment, and unpaid wages, though he was cleared of false imprisonment.
An additional $250,000 in punitive damages was added later. The woman, who filed suit in 2021, alleged that Way raped, kidnapped, and abused her while she worked as his assistant.
Way denied the claims, describing their relationship as consensual. His attorney said they would appeal. Soulja Boy has faced similar allegations in the past, including a 2023 ruling that ordered him to pay $471,800 to another ex-girlfriend.
